I scored each platform on four weighted criteria: number of integrations (30%), ease versus power (30%), self-hosting and control (25%) and price (15%). Pricing, app counts and licence terms were verified against each vendor's own pricing, app-directory and licence pages on 13 June 2026, and any figure I could not source to a primary page was left out rather than guessed. n8n's licence is the Sustainable Use Licence (fair-code, source-available), which lets you self-host for free for internal business use; I describe it as source-available, not open-source, because that is what it is. Where a vendor states a capability without independent proof I treat it as a claim and score it conservatively. I disclose any affiliate relationship and it never moves the ranking: of the four here, only n8n is a partner programme I have joined, and it earns the top slot on its merits, not its commission.
