Stripe Billing

Stripe Billing is a subscription and invoicing product built on top of Stripe's payment processing, used to manage recurring revenue, usage-based and metered pricing, invoices, and the subscription lifecycle. It includes failed-payment recovery (Smart Retries and automatic card updates), a hosted customer portal, and self-service checkout. Stripe acts as the payment processor, not the merchant of record, so the business remains the seller of record and handles its own tax obligations.
