Earn the answer with depth a competitor cannot fake
Google's job is to surface the most genuinely helpful result, and it has become alarmingly good at telling real expertise from rephrased competitor content. The era of "rewrite the top three results in your own words and add 200 words" is over. That content reads as derivative because it is, and it ranks nowhere. The pages that win now carry something the writer actually knows.
The asset you have that no competitor can copy is your own experience. Real numbers from real work, a process you have run a hundred times, a mistake you made and what it cost, a screenshot of the actual thing. This is first-hand experience, and it is the part of helpful content that cannot be generated or paraphrased. It is also the exact thing a busy founder is tempted to leave out because it takes effort to recall and write down. Leave it in. It is the moat.
Specificity is the signal of depth. "Improve your email open rates" is filler anyone could write. "We lifted reply rate from 4 percent to 11 percent by cutting the opening line and asking one question" is a claim only someone who did the work can make. Numbers, named tools, concrete steps, before and after. The more specific the page, the more it reads as written by a practitioner, and practitioners are what both Google and buyers want.
Answer the question fully, then answer the next three questions the reader will have. A page that ends exactly where the searcher's follow-up begins forces them back to Google, and Google notices when people bounce back to keep searching. Anticipate the "but what about" and handle it on the page. Completeness is a ranking factor in practice, even if Google never calls it that.
Use AI to draft and structure if you like, but the experience layer is yours to supply, every time. The structure, the grammar, the first pass, fine. The story, the number, the opinion, the lesson, those come from a human who did the work, or the page is one more derivative result that deserves the obscurity it gets.
