Let the signature trigger everything downstream

The close is not the end of the workflow, it is a trigger. The moment a buyer signs, a chain of small, boring, error-prone tasks should fire on their own, because those are exactly the tasks a busy solo founder fumbles in the excitement of a won deal.

Wire the e-signature event, via DocuSign, PandaDoc or similar, to set off the downstream chain: the deal flips to closed-won in the CRM, an invoice generates in your accounting tool, a welcome email goes out with onboarding links, and the project space gets created in your delivery tool. None of this needs your attention, and every piece of it is something that, done by hand, eventually gets forgotten on the deal you were most thrilled to win. Put payment as close to the signature as you can: a direct payment link in the close or the first invoice email, rather than sending the buyer off to hunt down how to pay, removes friction at the one moment they are most decided.

Worked example. The attribution deal signs on a Thursday afternoon. The signature webhook fires four actions before the founder has closed the tab: the deal moves to closed-won, a Stripe invoice for 18k goes out with a one-click payment link, a welcome email lands with a kickoff-call booking link and a short intake form, and a fresh project board appears in the delivery tool pre-named for the client. The founder's only manual act that day is a personal two-line thank-you. Everything that used to be a Friday-morning admin scramble has already happened.

The handover to delivery matters as much as the close itself, because a signature is the start of the relationship that funds the next one. A clean kickoff sets up retention and expansion that you will never reach if onboarding is a mess, which is the whole point of running customer success without a CS team.
