Avoid it by measuring no-show rate as a first-class metric and working the reminder sequence and the booking-to-meeting gap to lower it.
Slow human response on inbound. A form that promises "a rep will be in touch" and then takes hours to deliver on that promise loses the prospect to decay and to competitors. It happens because routing and alerting are an afterthought. Avoid it by collapsing response time, ideally to zero with a direct-to-calendar flow, and by measuring time-to-contact honestly, weekends included.
Hiding the calendar behind one button. When the only path to a meeting is a single "Contact us" link, you miss every other moment of intent across your site and your sequences. It happens because nobody maps the full set of booking surfaces. Avoid it by placing a context-matched booking path at the end of high-intent content, in email signatures, and on every post-conversion thank-you page.
Optimising the pitch instead of the flow. When meetings are not getting booked, teams rewrite the messaging and leave the friction untouched, then wonder why nothing changes. It happens because the pitch is visible and the friction is not. Avoid it by mapping and instrumenting the flow first, so you fix the step that is actually leaking rather than the one that is easiest to blame.
