Data pipeline
A data pipeline is the automated route data travels from where it's created to where it's used, extracted from a source, moved, cleaned, reshaped, and delivered to a warehouse, dashboard, or another tool. Instead of someone exporting CSVs by hand each week, the pipeline runs on a schedule and keeps every destination current.
For a lean founder, pipelines are the difference between analytics that happen and analytics that should happen but never do. The first manual export is fine; the tenth is a tax on your week and a source of errors. A reliable pipeline means your revenue, product, and marketing numbers are always fresh and always agree. Start simple, use managed connectors rather than hand-rolling scripts, and watch for silent failures, a pipeline that breaks quietly is worse than none, because you'll trust stale numbers without knowing. Monitor freshness and alert when a sync stops.
